Mobility and Movement

Mobility and movement in general are easily the most essential part of any Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu endeavor. The first thing that you need to learn in BJJ is how to move and interact properly. You need to know how to fall after being thrown, you need to know how to grip and hold your opponent, you need to know how to twist, contort, and bend, and you need to know how to stop yourself from getting injured. Without recognizing the core of the movement in the sport, you simply cannot do this. So, allow us to guide you, as we work through specialist techniques in every class. 

  Grip Fighting 

The importance of gripping in Jiu-Jitsu cannot be overstated. In order for you to throw your opponent safely and ensure that you do not get injured in the process. Gripping is performed in an extremely specific way in BJJ, something that cannot be compared to any other martial art. That is why, once again, we make sure that we go through the fundamentals of gripping whenever anybody first starts out with us so that they are able to get through any fight with the maximum efficacy. 

  Relaxation and Muscular Control 

Another area of Jiu-Jitsu that should be shouted about more often is the importance of muscular control and relaxation. It would be incredibly easy to tense up, get into muscular difficulties, or injure yourself through a fight if you do not know how to gain control over your own muscles. You will naturally get the most out of every engagement and build technique in a healthy, positive way. So, it should go without saying that this is another area of expertise we shared.

Being able to transition from guard to attack fluently is essential. You need to be controlled, steady, precise, and consistent if you really want to thrive.
